Last week I spotted that some random semi academic bloke claimed that there was such a date as Blue Monday, the day of the year when we all apparently feel at out most glum. He has a formula to calculate the date (which always seems to be in January). His formula must be flawed because Wikipedia are claiming its today (25 January) but the Daily Telegraph said it was last Monday (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/wellbeing/6995281/How-to-beat-Blue-Monday.h….
Regardless of when it is some days feel a shade more blue than others. So to chase away any Monday blues I’ll be drinking coffee from one of my favourite mugs.
Because life’s simple pleasures are worth celebrating.
If you want a mug like this then here’s where you need to be: http://www.emmabridgewater.co.uk/Black-Toast/Black-Toast-Happiness-12-Pint-Mu…
Pssst there’s a version for tea drinkers to :))
I like kedgeree. A lot. Its simple to make and always tasty. It makes a great light dinner dish. Its even easier when you use smoked fish that doesn’t need any cooking. Last night I used Pinney’s of Orford hot smoked salmon. I made the rice quite spicy because this fish is quite rich. Yum.
Find the salmon online here: http://www.butleyorfordoysterage.co.uk/
Okay. I know. Dilbert is kind of cheesy. But it makes me giggle more often than not. I was particularly pleased to bag a half price desk calendar this week. And I thought I’d share today’s cartoon with you.
Dilbert: ‘I didn’t have any accurate numbers so I just made up this one.’
Dilbert: ‘Studies have shown that accurate numbers aren’t any more useful than ones you make up.’
Point-haired boss: ‘How many studies showed that?’
Well it made me laugh ;0
I was very excited yesterday when my Howies T-shirt of the month arrived. I only found Howies (http://www.howies.co.uk/) late last year but I really like their quirky T’s.
This one perfectly sums up how I feel about only being able to grow a few veggies in the garden.
I love Aldeburgh. The beach. The chips. The fish huts. The food. I even love it when its a little bleak like it was last time I visited.
When I was Christmas shopping back in December I spied these on the Rococo website, so I just had to have some for myself because the wrappers are so beautiful. I’m a big fan of Rcoco chocolate and these are just delightful.
Now then which one shall I try first I wonder….
Here they are my most loved, worn loads, very favourite of all my many shoes. They’re 10 years old and still going strong, which is good because when I last checked they are eye wateringly expensive theses days. Here’s hoping they last another 10 years or more. They are Belstaff Trailmaster boots. I love them.
