Wow, these look good! I've never thought of putting a filling into bread; seeds, bits of caramelised onion, cheese: yes. But curry, definitely not!

It is great when you eat something and the flavour or texture reminds of a different time and place. It must have been fun to bring back memories of that hoiliday!

This is brilliant! I made this dough once before and wrapped hot dogs in them, similar to what you find in Hong Kong style bakeries. I didn't have curry and am now hitting myself for not thinking of it - brilliant!

Make me some and I shall reward you with pie and mash goodness.

Thank you.

Corry - thanks :)

Claire - I think this was pretty close to what we ate in Malaysia. Recently also made something called curry puffs which were similar but used pastry - also very good. The Dan Lepard technique is great though I think the good rise may have been due to the amount of yeast - I was halving the recipe and don't think I halved the yeast properly!

Grethic - they are really delicious give them a go great for portable lunches too.

Jules - its lovely to be reminded of holidays through food :) I really recommend the DL technique but see what I said to Claire above about the good rise and yeast quantity.

Chele - thanks - see the comment to Claire about the yeast and have been doing lots of rolls recently so I'm getting ok at them.

Claire - thanks - food is such a big part of holiday memories and its great to bring all the memories back with a recipe.

Signe - its brilliant idea - I can see it now with meatball mix, or fiskeboller mix or well most things tho maybe not umami pigeon with chocolate ;) its a brilliant wrapper along the lines of a pasty or pie I guess. If you do make some please send samples to me for quality control purposes.....

Wow, curry buns! Love the idea of spicy, fragrant meat hidden inside white, billowing buns. Shall have to try that, perhaps with a Norwegian meatball in lieu of the curry ;)
