Hi Ed....I agree the Indian and Turkish grocers are fantastic too and when I go to the market I always get stuff from them as well, its great to have such a range available. As you can see in the picture some of the haul was from the grocers. You are lucky to be close enough to use them daily.

I too love the farmer's market but its worth stressing how good the local Indian and Turkish Grocer's can be. I use Akdeniz Gida Pariz on Hoe Street on an almost daily basis because of its fresh fruit, vegetables and incredible range of produce from around the world; all at cheap prices.

Thanks for all your comments. I can't believe I hadn't been before when its so near. Its definitely going to become a regular part of my shopping. Its so great to be able to find good stuff and not have to go to the supermarket. Of course with so much nice stuff it is easy to go a little bit mad!

Great pictures - especially the radishes! it looks like you had a good time... I'm terrible at food markets - always buy SO much!!! Food looks so boring at the supermarket, but the REAL stuff from small producers is so inviting it's impossible to resist :-)

You might only be two miles away but I'm embarassed to say I'm less than half that distance and I haven't been to Walthamstow farmer's market for ages. I do however send my husband and Ted out regularly on Sunday mornings and they come back with yummy bread and sausages after a trip around the adjacent playground.
