		<description><![CDATA[Its a knopper gall....I looked it up and it is one of a series of galls that can affect oak trees. They are often caused by wasp larvae on different parts of the tree. Oak apples are another example. This particular one is a knopper gall ( see here for lots of info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andricus_quercuscalicis ).According to the website of a local woodland it was particularly prevalent round where I live in 2004.
